Job summary

Ventura College, part of the Ventura County Community College District, is accepting applications for an Instructor in Music with an initial focus on low brass (trombone, euphonium, tuba) for a part-time pool for Fall 2026 and Spring 2027. Positions are non-contract/temporary and may be up to 67% of a full-time assignment.

Under the supervision of a dean, instructors provide instruction and support services in diverse settings while adhering to Education Code requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's in music or Bachelor's in music with Master's in humanities or the equivalent.
• All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university.
• Possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction by lecture, lab, or performance to diverse student groups.
• Advise students on programs of study, transfer opportunities, and study skills.
• Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of enrollment, progress, and outcomes.
• Select instructional materials and update course content as needed.
• Participate in curriculum development and department meetings.
