Job summary

Life Time Inc. in Oak Brook Terrace, IL seeks a Bartender to provide beverage service in a fast-paced cafe environment. You will follow alcohol serving laws, prepare cocktails and non-alcohol drinks, and assist with serving food as needed, while maintaining a clean station.

You will greet members, balance cash at the end of shifts, manage supplies, and help ensure a welcoming, safe, and compliant bar area. Prior bartending experience and CPR/AED certification are required within 30 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1–2 years of bartending experience.
• Certified to serve alcohol.
• CPR/AED certification required within the first 30 days of hire.
• Ability to routinely bend and lift more than 20 lbs.
• Ability to stand and move around the cafe for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes to prepare cocktails and drinks, including garnishes.
• Serve members and customers in a timely manner, check identification, handle payments, and answer questions.
• Maintain cleanliness of bar surfaces, furniture, and equipment; return used dishes to bar/kitchen.
• Restock liquors, wines, beer, and non-alcoholic ingredients; replace beer barrels.
• Reconcile the bar's cash register at the end of the shift.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Follows recipes in order to appropriately prepare cocktails and other drinks, including adding garnish
• Serves members and customers in a timely fashion, including checking identification, accepting payment, and answering any questions that may arise
• Maintains cleanliness by cleaning bar surface, furniture, and equipment and returning used dishware to the bar/kitchen
• Maintains supplies by re-stocking liquors, wines, beer, and non-alcoholic ingredients and replacing beer barrels
• Reconciles the bar's cash register at the end of the shift

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 to 2 years of bartending experience
• Certified to serve alcohol
• CPR/AED certification required within the first 30 days of hire
• Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift more than 20 lbs.
• Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the Cafe for prolonged periods of time

Preferred Requirements

• Experience with inventory and ordering

Pay

This is an hourly position with wages starting at $15.00 and pays up to $18.00, based on experience and qualifications.
