Job summary

Cox Automotive in the USA is hiring a Lot Operations Specialist II to organize vehicle placement, oversee lot traffic, and support the safe, efficient movement of cars within the designated area.

This hourly role requires a High School Diploma, valid driver's license, and customer service experience. You will work at a Cox location, with a day shift and potential for additional compensation.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge to identify issues.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
  • 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain vehicle placement within zones.
  • Identify vehicle condition during walks.
  • Oversee lot flow and traffic.
  • Manage keys and report unsafe vehicles.
  • Direct drivers on vehicle assignments.
  • Record vehicle data in handheld device.
  • Support safety programs with leadership.
  • Adhere to Cox/Manheim values.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Company Cox Automotive - USA Job Family Group Vehicle Operations Job Profile Lot Operations Specialist II Management Level Individual Contributor Flexible Work Option No remote option; must work at a specified Cox location Travel % No Work Shift Day Compensation Hourly base pay rate is $15.10 - $22.69/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Job Responsibilities
  • Organize and maintain the placement of vehicles within the designated zone or move to defined area.
  • Conduct walks to identify vehicles condition as runners/non-runners.
  • Oversee lot coordination to maintain the continuous flow of traffic.
  • Pull and maintain the keys for any unsafe vehicles and report to management.
  • Monitor traffic identifying potential traffic blockage.
  • Direct drivers on vehicles assignment.
  • Move running vehicles and stage them in a safe arrangement to their proper work destinations.
  • Direct transporters to the proper car drop zone.
  • Report transport damage as needed.
  • Confirm with the transporters that all vehicles being delivered are inoperable.
  • Input accurate vehicle information into handheld device using crew management reporting problems and additional notes.
  • Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with safety excellence.
  • Set an example in behavior by championing Cox/Manheim values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • 1 year customer service experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment.
  • Effective verbal communication and customer service skills.
Work Environment

Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

To be employed in this role, you’ll need to clear a pre-employment drug test. Cox Automotive does not currently administer a pre-employment drug test for marijuana for this position.   • Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
