Job summary

Cox Automotive USA is seeking an Lot Operations Specialist II to coordinate vehicle movement through the sales lane, assign drivers and equipment, and ensure safe, efficient staging of vehicles at the Manheim location. The role operates on daytime shifts with no remote option.

Responsibilities include labeling, communication with crew leaders, adherence to safety policies, and possible overtime as business needs dictate. Must have a HS diploma and valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Minimum: HS diploma/GED with related field experience or equivalent.
• May also have another degree/certification beyond HS in related discipline.
• 3–5 years in a related field or similar roles.
• Valid driver’s license required; ability to drive both manual and automatic vehicles.
• Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle-related tasks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate movement of vehicles through sales lane to block and parking.
• Assign drivers and equipment to promote smooth traffic flow at auction.
• Oversee safe, efficient movement and staging of vehicles.
• Identify and address inoperable vehicles with service/towing teams.
• Label vehicles for accurate routing and inventory movement.
• Communicate status and priorities to crew leaders and managers.
• Model Cox/Manheim values and uphold safety procedures.
• Follow company policies regarding conduct.
• Be available for overtime as needed.

Compensation

Hourly base pay rate is $15.10 - $22.69/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Job Description

Coordinates the physical movement of vehicles through the sales lane to the block and parking following auction. Makes and oversees the assignments of drivers, jump start/battery operators and push truck operators in promoting a smooth flow of traffic through the auctioning process.

Job Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain the placement of vehicles within the designated zone or move area to the defined standard established by lot operations leadership
• Daily, utilize information from the Supervisor and Lot Ops dashboards to make the move decisions to stage their assigned zone area
• Responsible for continuous improvement efforts relating to safety and efficient movement of vehicles in and out of their assigned zone area
• Move vehicles and stage them in a safe arrangement to their proper work destinations to eliminate multiple drop off points and less than full loads
• Confirm that all vehicles can operate safely, and engage service and towing teams when inoperable vehicles are found
• Label vehicles with sale and routing labels to maintain accurate movements and eliminate the need for crew leaders to print and label staged units before transport
• Communicate with crew leaders and managers regarding the status of inventory levels within the defined move area and make the decision of what is priority
• Set an example in behavior by championing Cox/Manheim values and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect
• Implement all company policies and procedures related to employee and customer conduct
• Be a visible representation of Manheim’s safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures, and modeling the behaviors related to these directives
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
• May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate

Qualifications

Minimum:

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
• OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline.
• OR 5 years’ experience in a related field
• Safe drivers needed; valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Basic mechanical knowledge of identifying (i.e., flat tires, low gas, jump-starting vehicles.)

Preferred:

• 6 months of auction or driving experience preferred.
• Knowledge of lot operations/lot layout preferred.
• Knowledge of LDM preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear, vision abilities required to include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
• Must be able to walk long distances.

Work Environment

• Constant exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level (100% outdoors)

Work Schedule

• Monday - Friday: 7:00am – 3:30pm
