Responsibilities

• Verify serial numbers of incoming vehicles against invoices.
• Inspect vehicles for damage and verify presence of listed accessories.
• Document damages and list missing items on the delivery receipt.
• Park new vehicles in assigned areas.
• Assign stock control numbers to cars, catalog and store keys.
• Assist with RMV registration forms for sold cars.
• Assist technicians or valet as needed per Sales Manager.
• Help customers locate their cars when they come to pick them up and bring cars to the door when possible.
• Keep doorways shoveled, sanded, and clear during winter months; clear snow and ice from cars in the lot.
• Transport customers as requested by Sales & Service Managers.
• Pick up and deliver parts, personnel, and paperwork as required by other departments.
• Perform general tasks directed by Managers to ensure smooth operations.

Purpose

The Lot Attendant ensures the accurate receipt of new vehicles delivered to the dealership and organizes vehicles in the new-vehicle lot.

Essential Duties

• Vehicle Verification: Verify serial numbers of incoming vehicles against invoices.
• Inspection: Inspect vehicles for damage and verify the presence of accessories listed on the invoice, such as spare tires and radio equipment.
• Damage Recording: Document any damages and list missing items on the delivery receipt.
• Parking: Park new vehicles in assigned areas.
• Stock Control: Assign stock control numbers to cars, catalog, and store keys.
• Registration: Bring forms to the RMV for registering sold cars.
• Customer Assistance: Assist technicians or valet as needed per the Sales Manager.
• Customer Service: Help customers locate their cars when they come to pick them up and bring cars to the door whenever possible.
• Winter Maintenance: Keep doorways shoveled, sanded, and cleared during winter months, and clear snow and ice from cars in the lot.
• Transport: Transport customers as requested by Sales & Service Managers.
• Miscellaneous Tasks: Pick up and deliver parts, personnel, and paperwork as required by other dealership departments.
• General Assistance: Perform tasks as directed by the Sales or Service Manager (e.g., washing customer cars, emptying trash containers, or any other task that will assist in the smooth flow of the company).
