Job summary

Kayser Janesville Chevrolet Buick GMC is seeking a reliable Lot Attendant to keep the dealership lot organized and accessible, moving and parking vehicles as needed, and ensuring they are clean and ready for sales or service.

This outside position requires a valid driver’s license, attention to detail, teamwork, and the willingness to work in varying Wisconsin weather, with competitive pay of $35,000 to $40,000 per year and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to operate vehicles safely and maneuver in tight lot spaces.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Prior automotive or lot management experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Organize, park, and move vehicles on the dealership lot as needed.
• Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and ready for sales or service appointments.
• Assist in maintaining lot security by monitoring the premises and reporting any suspicious activities.
• Support the service department by delivering vehicles to and from the service area.
• Perform routine lot maintenance tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, and removing debris.
• Coordinate with team members to locate and prepare vehicles for customer pickup or test drives.
• Move sold vehicles to maximize use of space and keep the lot in order.
• Keep new and used vehicle inventory parked and orderly.
• Picks up and delivers vehicles to sublet suppliers on occasion.
• Prepares wholesale used vehicles for auction.
• Maintains facilities and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and safety.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining the organization and appearance of our dealership lot, ensuring vehicles are properly cared for and readily accessible. This position offers a competitive annual salary of $35,000.00 - $40,000.00, paid semi-monthly, with opportunities to grow within a reputable automotive company.

Essential Duties

• Verifies serial numbers of incoming cars against invoice
• Inspects vehicles for any damages and to verify the presence of accessories listed on the invoice
• Records the description of damages and lists missing items on the delivery receipt
• Parks new vehicles in assigned areas
• Catalogs and stores keys
• Affix stock numbers to vehicles
• Moves sold vehicles to maximize use of space and keep the lot in order
• Keeps new and used vehicle inventory parked and orderly
• Picks up and delivers vehicles to sublet suppliers on occasion
• Prepares wholesale used vehicles for auction
• Maintains facilities and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and safety.
• NOTE: Please remember this is mostly an outside position where the employee is subject to the extreme weather we have in southern Wisconsin.
