Job summary

Per Mar Security Services in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking a hardworking Loss Prevention Officer. The role involves patrolling to identify and apprehend shoplifters, using CCTV, and coordinating with local law enforcement as needed.

Applicants should have a HS diploma or equivalent, be able to read/write/speak English proficiently, pass a background check and drug screen, and maintain reliable transportation. Prior loss prevention or law enforcement experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Pre-Employment Criminal Background Check and Drug Screening.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to 3-4 hours at a time.
• Reliable transportation.
• Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently.
• Ability to communicate clearly and accurately through verbal and written means.
• Ability to write legible, accurate and easily understood reports.
• Must be assertive, yet controlled in dealing with confrontation.
• Must be trustworthy and able to work under little or no direct supervision.
• Attendance for scheduled shifts. Tardiness and absenteeism is not tolerated.
• Previous Loss Prevention or Law Enforcement experience is a plus but not a requirement.
• Criminal Justice or related studies a plus- High School diploma or equivalent (minimum)

Responsibilities

• Identify and Apprehend Shoplifters through floor patrol and the use of Closed Circuit TV Cameras
• Report Writing
• Interacting with local Law Enforcement as needed
• Provide Courtroom Testimony as required
