Job summary

Agropur Cooperative in Lake Norden, SD, seeks a Loss Prevention Intern to work with the Safety Manager and Plant Leadership on safeguarding procedures and training. You will help ensure compliance with safety rules, assist with incident investigations, and develop training materials.

The internship offers real-world manufacturing and leadership exposure, with opportunities to contribute to meaningful safety projects and to grow within a leading dairy cooperative.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree or Master's program in Occupational, Environmental Safety & Health; Industrial Technology, Engineering; or related program as a candidate for graduation.

Responsibilities

• Learn safety programs in a dairy manufacturing environment.
• Identify workplace safety hazards and recommend improvements.
• Support LOTO, Confined Space, and Job Hazard Analysis activities.
• Assist with incident and near-miss investigations and corrective actions.
• Review and update safety procedures, policies, and training materials.
• Gather and analyze safety data to measure improvement efforts.
• Work with plant employees, Safety Committees, and other teams on safety projects.
• Present key projects and lessons learned at the end of the internship.

As a Loss Prevention Intern, you will work closely with the Safety Manager and other members of the Plant Leadership team on various tasks and projects to help ensure plant compliance with all rules/regulations. The Loss Prevention Intern helps ensure safe building and equipment upkeep as well as modeling and providing training on safe behavior for all employees.

Location: Lake Norden, South Dakota location.
