Job summary

Urban Outfitters in New York City is seeking a Store Detective to deter theft, maintain a safe work environment, and deliver high levels of customer service. You will implement loss prevention procedures to safeguard assets and minimize external theft while performing duties related to shrink mitigation.

The role requires a valid NYS security guard license, 1–2 years in retail Loss Prevention, and strong report-writing skills. Flexible hours include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid NYS security guard license.
• 1–2 years’ experience within a retail Loss Prevention.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read/write concise reports and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily LP checklist.
• Recover/Apprehend shoplifters within company guidelines.
• Prosecute shoplifters following company guidelines with law enforcement.
• Complete all necessary paperwork (Deposition, Lost and stolen property report, APPRISS case reporting).
• Ensure store teams adhere to Loss Prevention policy and procedure.
• Respond to safety concerns and threats within location.
