About the job: Loss control/Insurance Field Inspector - Charlotte

We are seeking a Commercial and Residential Independent Contractor for Insurance Loss Control.

The inspector's responsibilities include assessing physical characteristics, exterior measurements, general conditions, photographs, unusual hazards, and providing recommendations related to properties. These comprehensive reports summarize observable hazards associated with risks.

The information collected helps our client companies determine whether a risk meets the carrier's eligibility requirements.

Inspectors act as the "eyes" for insurance underwriters, who are typically located elsewhere and work in an office setting.

Inspectors set their own hours and work schedules to accommodate client needs.

Qualifications for Insurance Inspector (Independent Contractor):
  • Energetic individuals capable of completing a high volume of inspections.
  • Motivated, analytical, resourceful, decisive, with good problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, and composition skills.
  • Desire to succeed and work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Self-disciplined, organized, and able to manage an aggressive workload, prioritizing and scheduling inspections efficiently.
  • Preferred but not required: VIITA Certification, experience in construction, plumbing, electrical industries, life safety/firefighting, general contracting, or property management.

  • Microsoft Windows 10-based PC
  • Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Internet Explorer 11
  • Broadband internet connection
  • Digital camera or smartphone compatible with your PC
  • Reliable, insured transportation and valid driver’s license
