Loss Control Consultant - Washington, DC

Regional Reporting, Inc. (RRI) is one of the largest independently owned providers of Loss Control services to the property and casualty insurance industry. We specialize in Property, General Liability, Products Liability, Fleet, Inland Marine, and Workers' Compensation.

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Loss Control Consultant to conduct commercial insurance loss control inspections throughout our coverage territory.

Position Overview

The Insurance Loss Control Consultant primarily performs commercial insurance inspections and completes underwriting reports used by insurance companies for policy underwriting. Responsibilities include driving to locations, photographing and visually inspecting facilities, noting business operations to assess exposures, and documenting findings via our online platform. Work assignments are scheduled daily or weekly based on location.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Record onsite observations, measurements, and photos according to carrier-specific requirements.
  2. Identify building and roof construction types, square footage, and potential hazards.
  3. Complete assignments and reports promptly according to deadlines.
  4. Communicate regularly with the Field Manager to ensure efficient inspection scheduling.
  5. Coordinate inspection meetings with insured representatives onsite.
  6. Prepare and upload inspection reports, photos, and diagrams regularly.
  7. Travel to insured locations; some overnight travel may be required.
Job Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience with Loss Control Service Providers or Major Insurance Carriers.
  • Understanding of commercial insurance lines, especially Property, General Liability, and Inland Marine.
  • Ability to identify building construction types and ISO classes.
  • Knowledge of NFPA codes.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Exceptional writing skills and proficiency with computers.
  • Ability to work remotely with a PC, high-speed internet, and a smartphone.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable automobile.
  • Ability to climb ladders up to 6 feet.
  • Digital camera or smartphone with picture capability.
  • Measuring wheel or similar tools, and a camera pole.
Compensation

Inspections completed accurately are paid starting at $110 per assignment. This role offers flexibility to set your own schedule and work independently in a growing industry.
