Loss Control Consultant Commercial Insurance – Independent Contractor - Nashville, TN

The Company

We partner with major insurance carriers and brokers, offering field inspection and risk control services to support underwriting processes. We are seeking experienced candidates with 10+ years of risk control experience in commercial Property & Casualty, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with computers. Knowledge of commercial insurance, inspections, or fire and safety assessments is encouraged.

Your responsibilities include scheduling on-site surveys, providing risk evaluations, and preparing reports that assist in underwriting and risk management. You will manage your assignments, secure customer appointments within your territory, and complete work on time.

Additional tasks may involve special projects or complex risk assessments that leverage your education, certifications, and skills. The insured businesses range from Middle Market to large multi-location operations.

Work is primarily remote, with travel to local commercial sites such as retail, restaurants, hotels, apartments, construction sites, manufacturers, churches, and schools. You will evaluate risks across various insurance lines, including Property, General Liability, Workers Compensation, Auto/Fleet, Products Liability, Inland Marine, and Builders Risk.

  • Windows-based PC with scanner
  • Digital camera
  • High-speed internet
  • Measuring device (laser, tape, or wheel)
  • Reliable vehicle

Preferred experience includes:

  • 10+ years in Risk Control Consulting
  • Experience with major carriers or brokers
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety, or Physical Sciences
  • Certifications like CSP or ARM are a plus

Additional qualifications include experience with commercial lines property/casualty, inspections, fire and life safety, and no licensed insurance agents/producers.
