Good Life Restoration, Inc. https://www.goodlifefire.com/ is looking for a dynamic Loss Consultant to join our team of professionals. This individual contributor role is a salaried, full-time position located in East Bay, California (REMOTE) home office in Sacramento, CA.

Job Summary:

A Loss Consultant for insurance claims is responsible for evaluating the extent of damage to residential properties caused by fires and providing accurate estimates for the cost of repairs or replacement. This role involves conducting thorough inspections, analyzing documentation, and communicating with policyholders, contractors, and other relevant parties to ensure fair and timely claim settlements. Overall, an estimator for a claim plays a critical role in facilitating the reconstruction process, helping policyholders recover from a loss, and ensuring fair and equitable claim settlements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Property Inspection: Conduct detailed inspections of residential properties affected by fires to assess the extent of damage to structures, contents, and other assets covered by insurance policies.
  • Documentation Review: Review insurance policies, claim forms, and supporting documentation to understand coverage limits, exclusions, and other relevant terms.
  • Estimation: Utilize knowledge of construction materials, labor costs, and market rates to prepare accurate estimates for the cost of repairs, replacement, and restoration.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to property damage, including photographs, repair estimates, and inventory lists, to support claim assessments.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with policyholders, insurance adjusters, contractors, and other stakeholders to gather information, address inquiries, and negotiate claim settlements.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate with adjusters, vendors, and service providers to obtain competitive pricing for repair and restoration work while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports, including damage assessments, cost estimates, and claim settlement recommendations, for review by insurance adjusters and other decision-makers.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing insurance claims and property damage assessment, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to policyholders by offering guidance, support, and timely updates throughout the reconstruction process.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as construction management, engineering, or business administration.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn residential construction materials, methods, and building codes.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn estimating software, spreadsheet applications, and other relevant tools.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
