Job Description

The role requires a Wireless Site Survey Engineer to perform site surveys for data and voice across all buildings and floors in the New York, NY area. The assignment is urgent and scheduled for the week of 13th June 2016.

Required Resources:

• 4 – 6+ years of networking experience
• English communication skills

Information to Capture in Wireless Survey:

• Physical locations of access points
• Recommended access point power and channel settings
• Antenna type, location, and orientation specifications
• Power, mounting, and cabling specifications
• Known or measured sources of interference
• Gap analysis between requirements and existing RF design, with recommendations for improvement
• Real‑time data rate of associated client
• Packet loss

Deliverables from Engineer:

• WLAN GAP Analysis and Audit
• HD quality pictures of the complete site

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Perform the Wireless Site Survey for data and voice across all buildings and floors
• Provide recommendations on access‑point placement maps, signal‑to‑noise ratio maps, and potential interference maps
• Work with wireless tools such as Cisco Prime and Air Magnet; experience with RF design
• Review requirements for wireless LAN RF design, including signal strength, SNR, data rates, throughput, availability and capacity
• Inspect, measure, and document the physical plan and wireless network
• Identify facility structures and communication devices that might interfere with radio signals or placement of wireless transmitters and access points
• Scan for significant wireless LAN networks or major sources of non‑802.11 interference
• Test propagation characteristics, coverage area, and signal quality

Pay Rate: Please confirm your hourly pay rate in USD currency all inclusive.

Pay Term: Monthly invoicing. First invoice paid on the 15th day after month completion. Subsequent invoices net 45 days to your PayPal account.
