Job summary

Iron Senergy seeks a Longwall Setup/Recovery Foreman in Waynesburg, PA to safely and efficiently lead a crew on longwall setup and tear-down, meeting budget goals. You will interpret maps, coordinate crew work, and ensure compliance with UMWA contracts and safety standards.

You\'ll develop the production team, maintain daily reports, and communicate across shifts to optimize ventilation, roof control, cleanup and drainage, while prioritizing safety and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Underground longwall experience of 1–5 years.
• Certification as PA State Mine Foreman or Assistant Mine Foreman.
• Ability to communicate, manage, motivate, and train.
• Working knowledge of Federal and State laws, UMWA contract, and company policies.
• Read, understand, and use engineering maps, drawings, and plans.

Responsibilities

• Achieve budgeted footage safely and cost-effectively.
• Plan, implement, and monitor longwall activities to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and company policies.
• Ensure safe work performance of assigned workforce.
• Develop production staff to meet section standards (ventilation, roof control, cleanup, dusting, drainage).
• Coordinate section activities with shift foremen.
• Ensure compliance with UMWA contract for area.
• Maintain detailed verbal and written communications with workforce and supervisors.
• Complete accurate daily production and activity reports.
• Be ready one hour before shift to plan and coordinate responsibilities.
• Ensure safe operation and condition of section equipment including mantrips.
• Oversee daily employee payments under charge.
• Comply with all safety program elements.

Job Description

The Longwall Setup/Recovery Foreman position is required to manage safely, efficiently and cost effectively a Longwall setup/tear down crew to meet budget goals.

Job Specific and/or Technical Skills Required:

Read, understand and use engineering maps and drawings for section planning. Have a working knowledge of Federal and State Laws, UMWA Contract and Company Policies.

Major Responsibilities:

• Communicate and coordinate sections activities with appropriate shift foreman.
• Ensure compliance with UMWA contract for area of responsibility.
• Responsible for detailed verbal and written communication with workforce, supervisors and cross shift foremen.
• Complete accurate and detailed daily production and activity reports.
• Expected to be dressed and ready to plan and coordinate shift responsibilities one hour prior to start of your shift.
• Ensure safe operation and condition of section equipment including mantrips.
• Responsible for accurate daily payment of all employees under your charge.
• Comply with all assigned safety program elements.

Qualifications
