Job summary

Iron Senergy seeks a Longwall Section Foreman to safely lead a Longwall Production crew and achieve budgeted outputs. You will plan, monitor and optimize section activities, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and UMWA contracts.

You will also develop the production workforce, supervise safety programs, coordinate with shift foremen, and maintain detailed daily reports. Candidates should have 1–5 years underground Longwall experience and PA Foreman certifications.

Qualifications

• Underground Longwall experience in the 1–5 year range.
• PA Foreman certifications required.
• Ability to communicate, manage, and train staff.
• Knowledge of Federal/State laws, UMWA contract, and company policies.
• Ability to read, understand, and use engineering maps and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Achieve budgeted footage safely and cost-efficiently.
• Plan, implement, and monitor Longwall section activities on shift.
• Ensure compliance with laws and company policies.
• Ensure safe work performance of the workforce.
• Develop production workforce to meet section standards.
• Coordinate section activities with appropriate shift foremen.
• Ensure UMWA contract compliance for the area.
• Maintain accurate daily production and activity reports.
• Be dressed and ready to plan and coordinate shift duties one hour before start.
• Ensure safe operation of section equipment including mantrips.
• Oversee accurate daily payment of employees under charge.
• Follow all safety program elements.

Job Description

The Longwall Section Foreman position is required to manage safely, efficiently and cost effectively a Longwall Production crew to meet budget goals.

Job Specific and/or Technical Skills Required:

Read, understand and use engineering maps and drawings for section planning. Have a working knowledge of Federal and State Laws, UMWA Contract and Company Policies.

Major Responsibilities:

• Achieve budgeted footage in a safe and cost-efficient manner.
• Plan, implement, and monitor Longwall section activities on your shift to achieve continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with State and federal laws and company policies.
• Ensure safe work performance of assigned workforce
• Develop production workforce to achieve section standards, including ventilation, roof control, cleanup, rock dusting, and drainage.
• Communicate and coordinate sections activities with appropriate shift foreman.
• Ensure compliance with UMWA contract for area of responsibility.
• Responsible for detailed verbal and written communication with workforce, supervisors and cross shift foremen.
• Complete accurate and detailed daily production and activity reports.
• Expected to be dressed and ready to plan and coordinate shift responsibilities one hour prior to start of your shift.
• Ensure safe operation and condition of section equipment including mantrips.
• Responsible for accurate daily payment of all employees under your charge.
• Comply with all assigned safety program elements.
