Job summary

Sabre Industries in Sioux City, IA is seeking a Longseam Welder to join our production team. You will work under production supervision and perform 100% penetration welds on shafts seams per drawings and codes.

Responsibilities include reading flatsheets, grinding preparations, setting welding parameters, inspecting welds, and operating an overhead crane. The role requires good math skills, ability to read prints, and a safety‑minded, physically capable worker.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred
• Must have knowledge of basic shop mathematics
• Proficiency in reading complex prints and specifications
• Must know how to properly use a weld gauge
• Read and write
• Regular and timely attendance is required

Responsibilities

• Uses specified welding processes to achieve 100% penetration welds.
• Reads drawings and flatsheets to determine weld requirements.
• Grinds and air-arc gouges areas as necessary for welding.
• Adjusts welding machine settings to meet procedures.
• Welds required areas to obtain 100% penetration.
• Reads and interprets welding codes and preheat requirements.
• Uses overhead crane to position work and move finished poles.
• Inspects welds for quality and conformance.
• Performs routine maintenance on weld equipment.
