Job summary

ExcelPrep Schools in Champaign, IL, seeks a Long-Term Substitute Teacher to provide consistent instruction and leadership during an extended absence. This full-time role follows school hours, Mon–Fri, with compensation starting at $25/hour.

You will uphold ExcelPrep’s structured, data-informed approach and maintain continuity in student learning. The ideal candidate is reliable, professional, and committed to high standards of learning, following established lesson structures and collaborating

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred) and teaching certification or relevant classroom experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom effectively.
• Follow established curriculum and instructional practices.
• Comfort with structured, data-informed instruction.
• Experience with Chromebooks and school data systems.
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily instruction aligned to existing curriculum and lesson plans.
• Maintain a structured, supportive, and predictable classroom environment.
• Implement classroom routines and behavioral expectations consistently.
• Support student learning through individualized supports as directed.
• Grade and record assignments and assessment results in accordance with program needs.
• Track student progress and communicate updates to appropriate staff members.
• Participate in school meetings and required professional activities.
• Maintain respectful, professional communication with students, families, and staff.
• Follow all confidentiality and compliance requirements.
