Job summary

Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking a full-time substitute teacher responsible for planning and delivering engaging learning experiences that support the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of students. You will supervise students, monitor outcomes and maintain records, while collaborating with parents, staff and the community to ensure student success.

Qualified candidates must hold Virginia teaching endorsement in the subject area, be prepared to substitute for

Qualifications

• Knowledge of VBCPS curriculum and techniques for integrating curriculum
• Ability to infuse technology into curriculum
• Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office, school-based staff, students, parents and community
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills
• Endorsement to teach the subject area in Virginia

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide for appropriate learning experiences for students
• Provide an atmosphere and environment conducive to the development of individuals
• Supervise students in a variety of school-related settings
• Monitor and evaluate student outcomes
