Long Term Substitute - Math Teacher (Middle School)
This assignment begins September 4, 2026 through December 23, 2026.
The daily rate for this position is $225 with Substitute Certification or $342.85–$367.85 with NJ Teaching Certification based on degree status.
Qualifications
- Holds or is eligible for a New Jersey Instructional certificate in the specific areas or grades to be taught, or holds a NJ Substitute Certification.
- Highly qualified in the specific areas as required by the New Jersey Department of Education.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Plans lessons that meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
- Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Guides the learning program toward the achievement of district and school goals and objectives.
- Employs instructional methods and achievement in accordance with established standards of proficiency.
- Promotes student learning and achievement in accordance with established standards of proficiency.
- Assesses the accomplishments of students regularly, keeps appropriate records, and provides progress reports as required.
- Confers as necessary and desirable with parents or guardians.
- Identifies the learning needs of students regularly, seeking assistance from district specialists when appropriate.
- Assists in curriculum development, in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials, and maintains required records.
- Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as appropriate.
- Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and board policy.
- Maintains professional development and growth.
- Maintains ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel, and other agencies.
- Performs duties within the scope of employment and certification as assigned by supervisor in accordance with state law, board rules, and contractual obligations.
