About Needham Public Schools (NPS):

Job Responsibilities:
  • Plan and teach high school mathematics, adapting district curriculum and other learning activities.
  • Develop and implement instructional strategies that consider students' academic and social/emotional needs.
  • Utilize student data to inform instruction and plan targeted interventions.
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of math content, methods, and effective teaching principles.
  • Foster high expectations and create a safe, culturally responsive classroom environment.
  • Build effective partnerships with families and caregivers.
  • Collaborate with specialists, instructional coaches, administrators, and parents to support student development.
  • Coordinate with ESL and Special Education liaisons to support all students.
  • Manage classroom behavior, assess student achievement, and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Valid Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Mathematics license at the appropriate level
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with high school students and understanding their needs
  • Collaborative work ethic
  • Experience with instructional technology
  • Commitment to inclusive pedagogy
  • Potential to contribute beyond the classroom to student life
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
