Overview
The Charter School of Wilmington is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher to teach AP Precalculus, Integrated Math 3, and Calculus for twelve (12) weeks starting November 3, 2025 through January 23, 2026.
As the long-term substitute math teacher, you will deliver high-quality instruction by implementing a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum. You will collaborate with teachers and instructional leaders to examine student learning, identify successes and opportunities for growth, and ensure students fulfill their academic and personal potential.

Critical Experience And Qualifications
- 3+ years of teaching experience preferred
- Understanding of high school math standards preferred
- Demonstrated experience closing student opportunity gaps
- Experience teaching AP courses preferred.
- Commitment and enthusiasm for working with a high-performing student population focused on implementing best practices related to community and cultural awareness
- Optimism, resilience, curiosity, and a strong passion for personal growth and student and teacher success
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in secondary education with a concentration in math or Bachelor’s Degree in Math with education certification. Master’s Degree preferred.
Certification Requirements
Hold or be eligible for Secondary Math Teacher certification. Details can be found here.
Salary
Salary will be computed in accordance with the experience and training of the individual selected and in accordance with the salary schedules for employees of The Charter School of Wilmington. Direct deposit of payroll checks is mandatory for state employment, and employees are paid on a lag pay schedule with the first payment made after approximately one month of employment.
