Job summary

Orono Public Schools seeks a Long-term Substitute Teacher for Grade 1 at Schumann Elementary. The assignment runs from Oct 1, 2026 to Mar 31, 2027, starting immediately after the date available.

You will cover classroom instruction, plan lessons, assess students, and communicate with families and staff to support literacy and numeracy progress. Qualifications

• Current Minnesota Teaching License required.
• Experience working with upper elementary students preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in teaching and assessing literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving in technology-rich environments.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience in collaboration and problem-solving.
• Experience with curriculum and assessment design.
• Understanding of the role of parent involvement and the ability to collaborate with parents.
• Ability to use technology as an instructional tool.

• BA Step 1 (51,256). Prorated to contract days worked.
• Sick and Safe Time (Earned at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked)
