Job summary

KIPP Oklahoma is seeking a temporary/full-time substitute teacher for a 10-month term in Tulsa, OK. The role focuses on delivering standards-based instruction, assessing students, and supporting both scholars and families in a high-demand learning environment.

You will collaborate with grade-level teams, participate in school events, and maintain strong classroom management while upholding the district’s commitment to academic excellence.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop year-long Oklahoma standards-based unit plans and lesson plans.
  • Use assessment data to modify short and long-term plans to promote scholars’ academic performance.
  • Embrace and incorporate feedback in the spirit of constant improvement.
  • Collaborate with content and grade-level teams to promote critical thinking and academic rigor.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with scholars and families based on trust and respect.
  • Participate in daily school functions such as morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties.
  • Attend school events such as staff meetings, open houses, back-to-school nights, parent orientations, and conferences.
  • Develop individualized learning plans for students and communicate these plans to families in meetings.
  • Meet professional obligations, including timeliness and deadlines.

Overview

Your job description responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, those set forth below as well as those described in the job description for your position on file with Talent/HR for the District and as may also be provided for in the employee handbook.

Regular time to report to work is 7:30 am – 4:45 pm.

Instructional Delivery and Assessment
  • Develop year-long Oklahoma standards‑based unit plans and lesson plans that meet all scholars’ learning needs.
  • Use assessment data to modify short and long‑term plans in order to promote all scholars’ academic performance.
  • Embrace and incorporate feedback in the spirit of constant improvement.
Academic and Cultural Support
  • Collaborate with content and grade‑level teams to promote an environment of critical thinking and academic rigor.
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with scholars and families based on trust and respect.
  • Participate in the daily functions of the school, such as morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties.
  • Attend school events such as staff meetings, open houses, back‑to‑school nights, parent orientations, parent‑teacher conferences, PTO events, and other school events.
  • Develop individualized learning plans for students and communicate these plans to families in parent meetings and conferences.
  • Meet professional obligations, including timeliness and consistency in meeting deadlines.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a temporary, full‑time, 10‑month position. The daily rate is commensurate with experience and based on the KIPP Oklahoma substitute teacher's daily rate.
