The Savannah Country Day School is seeking experienced Art teacher candidates for an immediate long-term substitute teaching role opening in the current academic year. It is anticipated that the teaching assignment will span October 2026-early 2027, potentially longer. This faculty member will teach a combination of Upper School Art courses, with a class load of five (5) classes, to include four (4) sections of the survey course Introduction to Visual Arts and one (1) section of Filmmaking. Standard duties for this position include the presentation/delivery of course objectives, following curriculum guidelines and requirements of the school. Qualified candidates should have a passion for helping students to explore visual arts using a variety of pedagogical and artistic techniques.

Work is typically performed in a classroom or lab environment with intermittent sitting, standing, or walking in various settings. The employee occasionally lifts or carries objects of a light-medium weight, up to 25 pounds. Full range of hand and finger motion may be utilized for data entry purposes. The occasional exposure to chemicals and fumes is possible in the laboratory environment.
