Our programs include an Early Intervention Program for children ages 0-3, our Anderson School, a special education school for children ages 3-12 who have complex medical needs and Woodbridge School, our early childhood education program. The Anderson School in Andover, MA provides a safe and nurturing special education school for students ages 3-12 years old with complex medical needs to maximize each student’s independence and growth. Our highly skilled, experienced and dedicated staff provide individualized instruction and support including educational and therapeutic programming. Our stimulating classroom setting includes specially designed classrooms to promote positive and active learning. High staff to student ratios including nurses in each classrooms enable our 11-month program to have non-traditional learners experience a traditional school experience. Family support is paramount including providing various on-site clinics and services to help our parents.

We are currently looking for a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher to cover a leave of absence from approximately the end of June until the end of November, including a 4-week summer session.

The Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher in our Anderson School will cover the Special Education Teacher’s responsibilities including, develops and implements curriculum and IEPs, maintains all necessary records/documentation, and providing overall direction and leadership within the classroom. School hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00 am – 3:00 pm and follows a school calendar, including holidays and closing periods, with a summer session.

Requirements:

Current or application in process for a Massachusetts DESE Licensure (Pre-K-8) in moderate or severe disabilities is required.
Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree with major in Special Education.
Special Education classroom experience and/or internship(s) with students ages 3-12 who have a wide range of multiple disabilities.
Experience implementing all parts of the IEP process.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to use technology effectively.
Ability to handle a multitude of varying and complex issues.
Suitable background check.
Mostly active – must be able to sit, bend, kneel and lift 25 pounds.
