Job summary

Natick Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Substitute School Psychologist to support students in the Natick district from 11/2/2026 through 6/11/2027. The role involves assessments, IEP participation, consultation with teachers, and counseling services within a diverse, high-performing district.

The successful candidate will hold a Master's degree, DESE School Psychologist license, and demonstrate strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills to serve Pre-K through age 22

Profile of a Natick Educator

JOB GOAL: The School Psychologist is a member of the student services team who provides assessment, consultation, intervention, and counseling services for students in his/her/their caseload.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Masters’ Degree

Professional Certification : DESE License as a School Psychologist

Specialized Knowledge:

• Child/adolescent development
• Social-emotional learning
• Demonstration of competency in the theory, administration, and interpretation of recognized standardized instruments.
• Best practices in individual and small group prevention and counseling practices
• IEP regulations
• Understanding of and commitment to the principles and practices of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice as they relate to student engagement and success

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working with children in the relevant age group
• Experience working in a diverse public school setting preferred
• Experience with testing, report writing, and sharing information with families
• Experience with individual and small group service delivery

Skills:

• Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed
• Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish and Portuguese, are highly desirable

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB (not limited to)

The essential duties and responsibilities, include, but are not limited to:

• Provides psychological and educational evaluations in a timely manner
• Participates actively in Individualized Educational Planning Meetings in order to produce comprehensive and appropriate educational plans for students being evaluated
• Provides teachers and other professionals with consultation services which will assist them in helping each student reach his/her potential in the least restrictive educational environment
• Conducts classroom screening to assist teachers in planning effective educational strategies for all students.
• Provides prevention and counseling services as needed, both individually and in small groups.
• Provides intervention as needed and is a member of the crisis response team.
• Participates as a member of the ACT Team in the schools to which the psychologist is assigned.
• Works cooperatively with all members of the Student Services team to enhance the services offered to all students in the school system.
• Performs other related duties as requested.
