Mentor Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Substitute School Counselor at Mentor High School in Mentor, Ohio. The assignment runs from October 2026 to February 2027, with daily rates of $150 for days 1–20, $175 from day 21 onward, and progression to the Teacher's Salary Schedule thereafter.

Job Description

Approximate duration: October 2026 - February 2027

Rates: Day 1-20 $150.00
Day 21 forward $175.00 for continuous assignment
Day 61 forward at Teacher's Salary Schedule.

Qualifications:

• Must have appropriate, valid certification or license to teach the content area in both teaching areas as recognized by the State Boardof Education.
• Thorough knowledge, understanding and appreciation for the learning process and the nature and growth of children.
• Proficiency in teaching, i.e. -- demonstrate ability to adapt his/her knowledge of educational methodology and variety of instructional techniques for the benefit of students in the learning environment. Scholarly competence in the structure and content of the subject area for which (s)he is responsible.
• Ability to communicate with students and parents the manner in which the curriculum relates to them.
• Demonstrate the ability to work and interact with other staff members, students, and administration in a manner that is cooperative and productive.
