Job description

Position: Long Term Substitute Music Teacher

Salary: $250.00 daily

Qualifications:
  1. Certified in subject area
  2. Bachelor’s degree required
  3. Experience in student teaching, substitute teaching, or private school teaching
  4. Other qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Board of Education
Reporting and Supervision:

Reports to: Principal or supervisor

Supervises: Students in class

Job Goal:

To help students learn subject matter and skills contributing to their development as mature, responsible individuals.

Responsibilities:
  1. Instruct assigned classes at designated times and locations
  2. Plan a program of study tailored to students' needs, interests, and abilities
  3. Create a conducive learning environment suitable for students' maturity and interests
  4. Prepare for classes and show evidence of preparation upon request
  5. Encourage and maintain classroom discipline and behavior standards
  6. Guide learning towards curriculum goals with clear objectives
  7. Employ diverse instructional techniques and media
  8. Implement district’s educational philosophy and goals
  9. Assess student progress regularly and report accordingly
  10. Diagnose learning disabilities with district support as needed
  11. Ensure safety of students, equipment, and facilities
  12. Maintain accurate records as required
  13. Help implement policies on student conduct and classroom rules
  14. Be available to students and parents outside instructional hours as needed
  15. Supervise and evaluate teacher aides and volunteers
  16. Maintain professional competence and attend staff meetings
  17. Perform other duties as assigned
Terms of Employment:

Ten-month contract, salary and work year per EHEA agreement

Evaluation:

Performance evaluated according to Board policies
