Job summary

Barrington Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Long-Term Substitute Middle School Mathematics Teacher for Barrington Middle School in Barrington, Rhode Island. This temporary/long-term substitute position requires a strong math background and proven classroom management skills.

The educator will implement the Barrington curriculum, differentiate instruction, monitor progress, and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Valid Rhode Island Department of Education teaching certificate in Mathematics (preferred).
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Previous experience teaching middle school mathematics preferred.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to establish positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide standards-based mathematics instruction aligned with Barrington Public Schools curriculum and Rhode Island standards.
• Implement lesson plans and instructional materials consistent with established curriculum and course expectations.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and styles.
• Assess and monitor student progress, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate records of performance.
• Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and supportive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with grade-level teams, department colleagues, and other school staff to support student learning.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
• Maintain classroom management and follow district policies and procedures.
• Participate in meetings and other professional responsibilities as directed by the principal.

Position: Middle School Mathematics Teacher – Long-Term Substitute

Location: Barrington Middle School

Employment Type: Temporary / Long-Term Substitute
