CUSTODIAN8 hours per day for remainder of 2024-2025 school year.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Under the supervision of the Custodian Services Manager individuals in this position perform custodial tasks to include but not limited to:
- Sweeping, mopping, shampooing, vacuuming, stripping and waxing floors
- Dusting surfaces
- Cleaning restrooms, sinks and drinking fountains
- Cleaning glass doors and windows
- Changing light bulbs
- Setting up rooms for meetings
- Setting up and cleaning up cafeteria
- Emptying garbage cans
- Moving furniture
- Responding to emergency requests
- Maintaining building security
Other related duties as assigned.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS- Reports to and receives direction from the Director of Facilities
COGNITIVE DEMANDS- Requires adaptability and flexibility in working with students and staff; requires effective decision-making and problem-solving; requires ability to respond calmly in emergency situations; must be able to work independently.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Job requires frequent standing, walking, lifting and bending; job requires occasionally lifting 65 pounds, frequently lifting and carrying 50 pounds and continuously lifting and carrying 20 pounds; job requires exposure to and use of commercial strength cleaning products.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Prior custodial experience a plus
- Current First Aid and CPR training preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES- Must possess knowledge of appropriate processes for cleaning a variety of surfaces and materials.
- Must be able to use commercial-strength cleaning products and equipment.
- Must be able to work effectively and respectfully with people from a variety of cultures and backgrounds.
- Must possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
- Must be willing and able to assist with emergency situations.
- Must have ability to follow established protocols for safety and emergency response.
- Must be flexible; able to adapt to varying building needs.
- Must demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.
- Must demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality.
