Eastlake High School is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and committed science educator to join our faculty for a 1.0 FTE long-term substitute Biology/Biotechnology Teacher position. This is a long-term substitute assignment that begins on or around 05/06/2025 with an end date of 06/24/2025. This role involves teaching on-level Biology and Biotechnology to students in grades 9–12 and requires high expectations for academic achievement matched with high levels of support. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative team environment and is passionate about guiding young people through inquiry-based science learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement engaging, standards-based lessons in Biology and Biotechnology.

Qualifications:

• Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with a Biology endorsement.

Preferred

• Experience working with high school students (ages 14–19).

Salary

Long-term substitute assignments in excess of twenty (20) days will be paid at the contract teacher base rate. See LWEA salary schedule posted on website. This position does not meet requirements for state health benefits.
