Job Title: Long Term Substitute Art Teacher Location: Elementary level - Subject to change Class Title: Temporary Effective Date: 09/28/2026 - approximately 01/04/27 Salary Range: $150-$175/day Hours per week: Full Time

General Statement: Provide Art education by acquainting students with the fundamentals of Art practices and the foundation for future study in Art related fields through engaging, hands-on curriculum, and encouraging the development of problem-solving skills, critical thinking and creative/innovative reasoning.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides rigorous and relevant instruction on pre-approved hands-on curriculum in the content area.
  • Integrates soft-skill instruction into competency-based content area activities.
  • Provides evidence of project-based learning.
  • Maintains a strong instructional focus utilizing the elements of effective instruction.
  • Communicates a high level of expectation to students.
  • Communicates clear learning goals and expectations to students.
  • Adapts instruction to meet the needs of all students.
  • Sequences content appropriately.
  • Embeds school’s student learning objectives in instruction.
  • Posts course syllabus and appropriate materials on class website.
  • Maintains and posts accurate and up to date grades.
  • Uses appropriate level of questioning to promote understanding.
  • Relates lesson content to prior and future learning.
  • Addresses various learning styles.
  • Requires students to analyze and apply knowledge.
  • Requires Students to summarize information in written and/or verbal form.
  • Conducts ongoing assessments for learning.
  • Collaborates with core content teachers on common course planning, integration and alignment.
  • Attends all relevant professional development opportunities.
  • Displays enjoyment, humor, and enthusiasm for teaching and the expectation that students enjoy.
  • Supports District goals.
  • Reports student progress to parents and students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • Three to five years oft teaching in Art education is preferred.
    • Teaching techniques that meet the diverse needs of students.
    • Human relations, leadership and conflict management.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree required.
