Job Description

We are seeking a Long Term Sub Special Educator Lead Teacher to lead a substantially separate partner classroom for a temporary leave. In this role, you will provide intensive individualized support to students with diverse learning and behavioral needs. You will design and implement evidence-based instructional strategies while leading a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team to foster a supportive and effective learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum

• Design and deliver specialized instruction tailored to students requiring intensive, individualized support.
• Implement evidence-based instructional practices, including:
  • Discrete Trial Training (DTT)
  • Antecedent-Based Interventions
  • Functional Communication Training
  • Social Skills Training
  • Task Analysis of complex skills
• Execute and monitor data-driven behavior plans to support student progress and growth.

Leadership & Team Collaboration

• Guide and direct a multi-disciplinary team of Instructional Assistants within a substantially separate classroom setting.
• Collaborate regularly with specialists to align on student goals, IEP development, and service delivery, including:
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
  • Occupational Therapist (OT)
  • Physical Therapist (PT)
  • Other related service providers as needed

Job Requirements

• Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Certification: Active MA Teaching Certification in Special Education.
  • Experience
    • Background in applying ABA/evidence-based strategies (e.g., DTT, task analysis, behavior plans).
    • Demonstrated experience managing or leading classroom support staff/instructional assistants.
    • Familiarity collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team model.
• At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Master degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
