Job summary

Fall River Public Schools is seeking a Long Term Sub Paraprofessional for Special Education at B.M.C. Durfee High School.

The role supports instruction, relates well with students and staff, and participates in staff development; pay is $24.75–$26.33 per hour under the district contract, with a 183-day work year and 210 paid days. This is a classroom-based position serving students with varying needs.

Qualifications

• NCLB qualified with Associates Degree or Para Pro Test.
• Experience assisting in instruction and supervision of students.

Responsibilities

• Relate well with students and other adults.
• Be generally responsible to the curriculum supervisor.
• Participate in staff development workshops, training sessions, meetings, and/or other activities organized by the curriculum supervisor, or the program director.
• Be directly responsible to the teacher for activities related to instruction and program implementation.
• Assist and work under the supervision of the teacher in:
• Providing individualized instructional services.
• Preparing instructional materials.
• Organizing instructional areas.
• Be responsible to school principals for non-instructional duties that fall within guidelines.
• Participate in program evaluations and needs assessment procedures.

SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

In accordance with the Fall River Paraprofessionals contract. Employment is contingent upon job performance, program needs, and funding. Salary includes a 183 day work year, with 210 paid days per year (including vacation and paid holidays). Payrate ranges $24.75-$26.33/hour.
