Job summary

Rutland Northeast Supervisory Union is seeking a knowledgeable and collaborative Long Term part time Teacher:Special Educator. The teacher provides individualized instruction and support to K-grade 12 students with special needs.

This role focuses on creating a safe, inclusive learning environment that supports students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development in alignment with state and federal special education requirements Matthew Hildebrand, Director of Student Support

Responsibilities

• Design and implement instruction aligned with students’ IEPs.
• Use best practices in special education, behavior management, and MTSS.
• Assess student progress and use data to guide instruction and IEP development.
• Create and maintain a respectful, inclusive, and structured learning environment.
• Implement behavior support plans as needed.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.
• Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records and required state documentation, including IDEA Indicator 12 data.
