Job summary

Capitol Region Education Council Foundation, Inc. is seeking a long-term substitute Special Education Teacher to work across elementary, secondary, and high school levels.

The role emphasizes collaboration, assessment, and IEP development to maximize learning for students with special needs. Strong candidates will demonstrate excellent communication, ability to work with diverse teams, and experience in administering diagnostic assessments and presenting at PPTs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Special Education principles, theories, testing, methods and curriculum.
• Differentiated instruction based on student learning styles.
• Knowledge of data information systems and data analysis.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state education laws.
• Ability to organize and coordinate work.

Responsibilities

• Conducts assessments and diagnostic examinations to identify learning issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Participates in PPTs and assists in developing IEPs for students.
• Assists students and staff in implementing IEPs and behavior plans.
• Collaborates with general education teachers and staff to design and implement programs addressing individualized needs.
• Coordinates with district representatives and outside agencies as needed.
• Coordinates with administrators and staff to align with district procedures and laws.
• Provides counseling and acts as liaison between home and school.
• Maintains data and records to support decision making.
