Job summary

The Wauwatosa School District is seeking a Long-term Substitute Special Education Aide/Assistant at Wauwatosa Montessori School. The role supports students with disabilities under the supervision of certified teachers, promoting academic growth and daily living skills throughout the school day.

Responsibilities

Provides support and delivers services to students with disabilities throughout the school day.
Assists students with academic work in general education classrooms and small groups.
Under supervision, implements instructional programs and lesson plans.
Provides physical assistance to students with mobility challenges.
Works collaboratively with the special education team.
Delivers direct instructional services and behavioral supports described in IEPs.
Assists teachers with duties to support academic and social goals.
Adapts activities and materials to reinforce learning goals.
Supports an inclusive educational environment for all students.
Assists students requiring daily care (toileting, feeding, etc.).
Monitors students in various environments to maintain safety.
Models positive citizenship and responsible behavior.
Complies with district alcohol/drug policy.
Performs other duties as assigned.
