Qualifications

• VT state licensing with music education endorsement is required.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate music and arts across curricula.
• Support for arts within schools and community.
• Teaching experience and/or performance in music is desirable.
• Commitment to the district’s mission and strategic plan.

Responsibilities

• Plans, presents, and evaluates a flexible, written curriculum addressing student abilities and interests.
• Cooperates with districtwide music teachers to refine curriculum and coordinate K–12 initiatives.
• Promotes an exciting and challenging environment in music classes and lessons.
• Initiates new ways of thinking and problem solving.
• Acts as a resource to classroom teachers for planning activities integrating music and workshops.
• Budgets, orders, organizes, and stores all music supplies and equipment.
• Attends and contributes to school and district meetings.
• Promotes music and arts education in the community.
• Plans, schedules, and participates in school, district, and regional performances with students.
• Demonstrates ongoing professional growth in music and teaching.
