Zusammenfassung

Ombudsman Educational Services, a ChanceLight company, seeks a Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher to join its Alternative Education team for high school students. You will deliver engaging math instruction, plan meticulously, and ensure instructional continuity when the regular teacher is absent.

Responsibilities include designing lessons, collaborating with staff, managing behavior, and communicating progress to families, while aligning with ChanceLight policies and program standards.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study.
• Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a valid IL state substitute teaching credential.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training.
• Prior experience and/or knowledge in curriculum development, differentiated instruction, classroom management, and personalized learning.
• Prior experience teaching math at a high school level, preferably in an alternative, special education or behavioral health program.

Aufgaben

• Design daily lesson plans and structured schedules aligned with state standards and school expectations.
• Deliver rigorous instruction and facilitate activities using curriculum resources and edTech.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to provide targeted instructional support and curriculum modifications.
• Establish and enforce behavioral expectations to ensure a safe, structured learning environment.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and factors influencing performance.
• Participate in team meetings to address student concerns and align on interventions.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress through data review and performance metrics.
• Stay current with best practices and professional development to strengthen impact.
• Model professionalism and respond constructively to feedback to support growth.
• Perform additional duties to support classroom operations and student success.
