Job Description

Position: Long Term Substitute-EL Teacher

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Classroom or related experience with children ages 5+
  • MA DESE License preferred

Salary: $125.00 per day, $150.00 per day after 20 consecutive days

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Prior teaching experience or related experience with children ages 5+ and the ability to contribute meaningfully to grade-level. Candidates must have excellent writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and the ability to work with independence in dealing with the diverse elements of the academic environment.

Instructional:

  • Employs a variety of teaching methods to engage different learning styles and ability levels in the classroom
  • Prepares, conducts and delivers motivating and stimulating lessons that reflect knowledge of the curriculum, child development, and student abilities
  • Encourages an inclusive classroom that accepts the different perspectives and backgrounds of the students
  • Utilizes a variety of assessments and uses data in the classroom to monitor students’ progress
