Qualifications

• Minimum: Master's degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in school counseling; Missouri certification in the area of K-12 Student Services- Counselor.
• Preferred: Two years of successful experience as a classroom teacher preferred.
• Ideal candidate will have a professional and friendly demeanor with a demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Implements the Missouri Comprehensive School Counseling Program, including Curriculum, Responsive Services, Individual Student Planning and System Support.
• Works with Director of Elementary School Counseling in establishing program goals.
• Assists students in becoming better adjusted to school.
• Assists students with development of positive self-concepts.
• Delivers Elementary School Counseling Curriculum in K-5 classrooms regularly.
• Provides students with individual, small group counseling and crisis intervention.
• Consults with teachers, parents and administration about student needs.
• Works with parent groups to improve parental skills and discuss topics of interest.
• Conducts in-service training for school staff on student needs.
• Coordinates mental health services and community support for students and families.
