Job summary

OneAmerica Financial is seeking a Long-Term Care Underwriting Manager to evaluate risk for Life and LTC hybrid products and ensure adherence to pricing and mortality standards. The role includes risk approvals within defined limits and mentoring underwriting staff.

This position offers remote work with possible in-office requirements in CA/IN/ME as needed. A competitive salary and annual incentive are provided, reflecting education, experience, and location.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. degree required.
• 10+ years of underwriting experience in Life or LTC.
• Authority to approve or decline up to defined limits (Life ≥$5,000,000; LTC Combo $1,000,000).
• Completion of one or more industry designations (FLMI, FALU, etc.) preferred.
• EKG interpretation/training experience is a plus.

The Long-Term Care Underwriting Manager is responsible for evaluating and classifying risk for Life and LTC hybrid products to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and procedures, and to ensure accordance with mortality and morbidity pricing. This role will have the authority to postpone, decline or add substandard ratings within defined approval limits.

What You Will Need

• B.A./B.S., College Degree
• 10+yrs of experience in Life or LTC underwriting
• Approval Authority: Life ≥$5,000,000; LTC Combo $1,000,000
• Completion of 1 or more industry designations (FLMI, FALU, etc.) preferred.
• EKG interpretation/training experience ideal

Salary Band: 6B

This selected candidate will be expected to work fully remote. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team building and collaboration.

Consistent with applicable pay transparency laws, we disclose the compensation range for this position: $95,000 – $130,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined by factors such as education, experience, geographical location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for an annual incentive program.
