This role emphasizes patient safety, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with facilities, physicians, and pharmacy staff. The ideal candidate holds a state pharmacy technician license, 1-3 years of LTC experience, and proficiency with HIPAA, insurance billing, and Microsoft Word/Excel.

Qualifications

• Current State Pharmacy Technician license and certification.
• 1-3 years Long Term Care Pharmacy Technician experience.
• Medical Terminology required.
• Order Entry and insurance billing experience preferred.
• IV experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Word and Excel.
• Good human relation skills, strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Patience, tact, enthusiasm, positive attitude and professional manner.
• Strong organizational skills including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Problem Solving Skills and Critical Thinking Skills.
• Strong knowledge of Brand/Generic drugs preferred.
• Must be able to stand, bend, stoop and lift up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory, place orders; check in drugs and stock shelves.
• Prepare medications including emulsions, liquids, powders and ointments.
• Maintain packaging equipment for calibration.
• Timely and accurately fill resident medication orders in accordance with State Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Prepare orders for final delivery.
• Comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Interact with facilities, physicians and staff to promote teamwork and professionalism.
• Prepare various reports for management, customers and residents.
• Schedule may include weekend and/or nights.
