Job summary
Luna Rehabilitation & Care Center in Roswell, NM is seeking compassionate Certified Nursing Assistants to join our skilled nursing team. CNAs provide direct, resident-focused care, assist with ADLs, mobility, nutrition, and comfort under licensed staff supervision.
You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to promote dignity, safety, and quality of life for residents, while following care plans, infection prevention, and Luna policies.
Qualifications
- Must hold New Mexico CNA certification in good standing.
- Experience in skilled nursing/long-term care preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow individualized care plans and safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, toileting, feeding.
- Assist transfers, ambulation, mobility, and repositioning per care plans.
- Use transfer equipment safely (mechanical lifts, gait belts).
- Record and report vital signs and changes in resident condition to supervising nurse.
- Observe for condition changes and communicate promptly to the care team.
- Respond to resident call lights promptly and professionally.
- Provide toileting and incontinence care while protecting privacy.
- Document care provided according to facility procedures.
- Follow infection prevention practices and PPE guidelines.
- Follow fall prevention and emergency procedures.
- Maintain clean, organized resident rooms and care areas.

Luna Rehabilitation & Care Center is seeking compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to join our skilled nursing team.
As a CNA, you will provide direct, hands-on care to residents while assisting with activities of daily living, mobility, personal hygiene, nutrition, and other individualized needs. You will work under the direction of licensed nursing staff and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote resident dignity, independence, comfort, and safety.
Our CNAs are an essential part of the clinical team and often spend more time directly with residents than any other team member. Your ability to recognize changes in condition, communicate concerns, and provide compassionate care plays an important role in maintaining resident health and quality of life.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, toileting, eating, and personal care
- Safely assist residents with transfers, ambulation, mobility, and repositioning in accordance with individualized care plans
- Utilize mechanical lifts, gait belts, and other transfer equipment appropriately and in accordance with training and facility procedures
- Accurately obtain, record, and report vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure, as assigned
- Observe residents for changes in physical, cognitive, emotional, or behavioral condition and promptly report concerns to the supervising nurse
- Respond promptly, respectfully, and professionally to resident call lights and requests for assistance
- Provide appropriate toileting and incontinence care while protecting resident privacy and dignity
- Assist residents with meals, hydration, feeding, and nutritional needs in accordance with individualized care plans
- Reposition residents as directed to promote comfort, mobility, and skin integrity
- Make beds, change linens, and maintain resident rooms and care areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition
- Accurately document assigned resident care and services according to facility procedures
- Follow infection prevention practices, including proper hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and applicable precautions
- Follow established fall prevention, resident safety, and emergency procedures
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with residents, families, nurses, coworkers, and interdisciplinary team members
- Immediately report accidents, incidents, injuries, allegations, safety concerns, or significant changes in resident condition to the appropriate licensed nurse
- Protect resident rights, privacy and dignity, confidentiality, preferences, and personal belongings
- Follow all Luna Rehabilitation & Care Center policies and applicable federal and New Mexico requirements governing resident care
- Current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification/status meeting applicable New Mexico requirements
- Certification must remain active and in good standing as required for employment
- Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, assisted living, or another healthcare setting preferred
- Compassionate and respectful approach to caring for older adults and residents with varying physical and cognitive needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to observe and appropriately report changes in resident condition
- Ability to follow individualized care plans, nursing instructions, and established safety procedures
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
