Job summary

City of Meridian seeks a planner to advance transportation and education planning in coordination with agency partners. You will organize stakeholder meetings, review development impacts on schools and traffic, and advocate for solutions that align city and WASD goals.

The role involves coordinating with ACHD, ITD, COMPASS, VRT and WASD, preparing technical reports, and presenting to multiple public bodies. A bachelor’s degree in related field is required, with AICP desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in community or regional planning, transportation planning, engineering or related field; 2+ years experience or equivalent.
• Strong writing and research skills; attention to detail; persuasive speaking.
• Certification by AI CP (AICP) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with WASD, ACHD and other partners on transportation and school planning.
• Prepare analyses, reports and memos using data and policies.
• Present updates to Mayor, City Council and boards and commissions.
• Attend meetings and facilitate public engagement in evenings.
• Develop and maintain city transportation and comprehensive plans.
