Job summary

Planning and Development Services of Kenton County (PDS) is seeking a professional planner to join its Planning and Zoning Administration team. The role focuses on long-range planning with occasional current-planning duties.

The ideal candidate will be motivated, outgoing, a team player, and possess strong written, oral, and visual communication skills. AICP certification or state licensure within the first year is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in planning or landscape architecture.
• 1–3 years of professional planning experience.
• AICP certification or state licensure within first year.
• Strong written, oral, and visual communication skills.
• Experience with long-range planning and GIS analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Focus on long-range planning activities with some current planning duties.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams.
• Support public involvement and citizen engagement efforts.
• Prepare planning analyses and visual presentations.
