Job summary

Leggett & Platt is seeking a CDL-A Long Haul Driver to deliver finished goods safely and on time. You will maintain logs, assist with offload, and ensure product security and compliance with DOT regulations.

Responsibilities include daily reporting, customer service, proper handling of money/CO.Ds, maintaining equipment cleanliness, and coordinating with Traffic Manager. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and reliability in a demanding environment.

Qualifications

• Detailed oriented with the ability to make decisions.
• Must have a class A CDL.

Responsibilities

• Upon delivery, ensure the accuracy of products delivered.
• Assist customer in the off load of the product.
• Exceed customer expectations.
• Maintain excellent customer service and customer relations.
• Responsible for all money/C.O.D.’s involved in business transactions, as required.
• Maintain “Logbook”, maximize “backhauls”, and fuel-up at specified terminals.
• Adhere to safety, EEOC and OSHA policies.
• Ensure loads are secure.
• Maintain cleanliness of tractor and trailer.
• Comply with Leggett & Platt and State and Federal DOT regulations.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Traffic Manager.
• Contacts Traffic Manager or Dispatcher on a daily basis.
• Prepares daily reports on the quality/quantity of incoming and outgoing materials.
• Maintain effective inter-department communication.
• Adhere to the Leggett & Platt safety, environmental and conduct Policies.
• Has the authority to perform the following: Initiate action to prevent non-conformities; identify problems; provide solutions; verify implementation; control nonconforming product.

• Identify and/or record any problems relating to the product, process and the quality system:
• Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
• Verify the implementation of solutions.
• Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.

Other Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of all tractors and trailers.
• Management may assign other duties not covered in this description. All employees are expected to carry out any reasonable assignment.

Minimum Knowledge And Skills Required

• Detailed oriented with the ability to make decisions.
• Must have a class A CDL.
