Adelphi is seeking a highly qualified and experienced physician to serve as a Medical Director at a Municipal Advanced Life Support (ALS) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Program Center in California . The selected candidate will provide medical leadership, administrative oversight, and expert guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality pre-hospital emergency care.

Requirements:

Responsibilities:
• Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the Fire Department EMS program.
• Ensure patient safety and compliance with local, state, and federal EMS protocols.
• Annually review and update EMS protocols to align with evidence-based practices.
• Oversee controlled drug programs, medical supplies, and equipment management.
• Lead EMS training and education, participating in at least four (4) sessions annually and presenting at one (1) session.
• Supervise continuous quality improvement (CQI) efforts, including medical audits and performance reviews.
• Conduct field observations and ride-alongs, providing direct clinical oversight.
• Attend biweekly EMS leadership meetings and provide written medical guidance.
• Respond to major incidents, such as mass casualty and hazardous material events.
• Advise on EMS behavioral health and wellness programs for personnel support.
• Collaborate with hospitals, regulatory agencies, and other healthcare stakeholders to enhance EMS operations.
