UMOM New Day Centers in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a Logistics Warehouse Apprentice to support warehouse, donation, inventory, and delivery operations while gaining hands-on experience in warehousing and nonprofit logistics.
The role is designed for graduates of UMOM's Homegrown Program, offering practical work experience, professional development, and exposure to warehouse operations. This is a safety-sensitive, part-time apprenticeship with a 25–29 hour workweek.
About UMOM New Day Centers: Founded in 1964, UMOM is Arizona's largest provider of services for families experiencing homelessness. Our mission is to end family homelessness by restoring hope and rebuilding lives. With an annual operating budget of $20 million dollars, UMOM provides shelter, supportive services, and housing programs to families and individuals experiencing homelessness in Maricopa County. UMOM serves over 15,000 unique individuals across all our services annually, including those families receiving support at the Family Housing Hub, Maricopa County's family coordinated entry system.
Position Description: The Warehouse and Logistics Apprentice supports UMOM's warehouse, donation, inventory, and delivery operations while gaining hands‑on experience in warehousing and logistics. Designed for graduates of UMOM's Homegrown Program, this apprenticeship serves as a bridge to employment by providing practical work experience, professional development, and exposure to warehouse, distribution, and nonprofit operations. Working under supervision, the apprentice applies skills gained through Homegrown while contributing to inventory management, order fulfillment, donor relations, documentation, and warehouse organization. The role supports safe, efficient operation and helps participants build the confidence and experience needed for continued career success.

Physical Activities and Working Conditions
This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, climbing, reaching, and moving throughout the workday. The apprentice may frequently lift, move, and transport items up to and over 75 pounds while following safe lifting practices, including team lifting and use of appropriate tools and equipment. Duties may include regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, warehouse environments, vehicle loading areas, and moderate to loud noise. Work Schedule: This is a part-time position. The schedule may vary depending on business needs. Hours worked per week are expected to be between 25 and 29 hours.
